Welcome to Natures hideaway which was created from a simple intention: to offer a peaceful, nurturing space where busy people can pause, unwind, and immerse themselves in nature’s quiet magic. Set within the stunning Blackdown Hills — a designated National Landscape on the Somerset/Devon border — the retreat is surrounded by rolling countryside, ancient woodlands, and clear, star-filled skies untouched by light pollution.

 If your idea of a romantic break away is being wrapped in luxury but being surrounded by nature, Old Rose or Woodland  Hideaway shepherd hut Retreat and hot tub  is the one for you.

Natures Hideaway is a very special beautiful peaceful place with a wonderful energy in a captivating magical setting, bordered by streams and overlooking the river Otter. How about wild swimming and picnics down at the ford?

Our two luxury shepherd’s hut retreats, Old Rose and Woodland Hideaway, were beautifully handcrafted in oak and designed with comfort, tranquillity, and simplicity in mind. Each space blends natural charm with considered touches of luxury, giving you the perfect balance between rustic escapism and modern comfort.

With the on the doorstep, Otters can been seen on the river Otter and Otterhead lakes, have beavers buidling their dasms.
In the beautiful dewy mornings, deer can be seen grazing in the glades around the huts.

Nestled beside wild meadows, streams, and the River Otter, the surroundings offer endless ways to reconnect — whether it’s peaceful walks, moments of stillness by the water, wild swimming and picnics at the ford, or simply enjoying the wildlife that often wanders through. Deer are regular visitors at dawn and dusk, and otters and beavers can sometimes be spotted along the river and Otterhead Lakes.

Each retreat has its own private decking area with seating and a BBQ, creating a secluded space to savour slow mornings or golden-hour evenings. A short walk along Bluebell Walk, a winding woodland path, leads you to the huts, where your hot tub awaits — perfect for relaxing under the stars with a glass of something chilled.
